REFRESH & RENEW
Beginning this month, REFRESH & RENEW will kick off a brand-new campaign. We’re calling it BABY BOTTOM BONANZA and we will be accepting donations of all items that a well-cared for ‘baby bottom’ needs:
~diapers & pull-ups, (all sizes) (Opened packages are welcome as well as full packages)
~baby wipes
~ointments (i.e., Bodreaux’s butt paste, Aquaphor Baby, Desitin ointments,)
~monetary donations
(We’ll use your donation to purchase the needed items; your check should be made payable to “St. Ambrose Society”. Please note BBB in the memo section on your check)
Our first recipient, Nurses for Newborns, provides a safety net for families most at-risk to prevent infant mortality, child abuse, and neglect. This is done by providing in-home nursing visits that promote healthcare, education, and positive parenting skills. Since WIC and SNAP (formally food stamps) cannot be used for these “baby bottom” needs, all items collected through the end of the year will help these nurses, help these families! We hope to expand our giving to other sheltered moms and make this an ongoing campaign (stay tuned on how we hope to introduce a monthly drop off, while engaging our St. Ambrose School Students in this campaign).
We are grateful to Jay & Dena Accardi for initiating and coordinating this effort in memory of Jay’s son, Tony, (a 2008 graduate of St. Ambrose), and to honor his daughter/their granddaughter, Gia. Jay and Dena will also be coordinating these efforts through their respective employers, family, and friends.
Collection Boxes are located in the FRONT & SIDE Entrance to Church & at the Neighborhood Center
