Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Since 1949, Saint Ambrose School has been staffed by the religious congregation, the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  This religious group of women was founded in Italy in 1898 by Clelia Merloni.  In 2002, the Apostles celebrate 100 years of service in the United States.

The charism of this religious community of women is "the love of Christ impels us".  Their strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is reflected in their care for the youth at Saint Ambrose School.   Currently, we have four sisters serving at Saint Ambrose Parish.

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are an international community whose motherhouse is located in Rome, Italy.  The provincialate is located in Hamden, Connecticut.  To learn more about the Apostles of the Sacred Heart, visit their website at http://www.ascjus.org
