Service to the Community

Throughout the history of Saint Ambrose School students have always given to the community their time and talents. Service is an important aspect of Catholic education. It enables students to be a witness to the philosophy that underlines the education at Saint Ambrose School. It prepares them to spread a spirit of understanding, peace, and tolerance, which is so needed in our global community. The students recognize that in giving to others they strengthen their own faith and moral fiber.

Furthermore, service to parish and community is a way of life for the Saint Ambrose Parish Community. The community itself has led the way in modeling for students that service to God, community, and one another is an integral part of everyday life. We are all linked by our faith and therefore, must respond to one another’s needs.

Service at Saint Ambrose is never an isolated event. It is important that students not just complete assigned service hours/projects. In order to weave giving to the community into the fiber of children’s lives all service projects are integral to the life of our parish and community. All service has a purpose, the students not only give service but also they come away with a deeper understanding of the many resources it takes to have a viable parish and community.

Included in Saint Ambrose School’s yearly projects are: food drives for the poor, spring and fall clean-up and planting, and collecting monthly funds for designated charities.
