Holy Week
Msgr. Bommarito has asked that no meetings or sports practice be scheduled during the week of March 29 through April 3.
St. Joseph Altar
Thanks to all who supported the child or parish altar last week.
All money raised will be used for tuition assistance. Any needs should
be communication to the rectory office.
Third Enrichment Session
Sessions are planned in golf and bowling, yoga, magic, and science. We
would love to add a music component this year or next, if anyone knows
of an instructor or program to recommend.
Summer Solutions
Summer may seem far away, but it will be here in a few short weeks.
Summer means ten weeks without school. Researchers warn that, over the
summer, kids could lose two months or more of what they learned during
the school year. Teachers often see the result of this summer
“brain drain”, but some of the learning loss can be
prevented by regular practice. Adding a structured consistent practice
over the summer will ensure that your child starts next year with
confidence to begin new learning.
Next week, during the Scholastic Book Fair, we will also be taking
orders for Summer Solutions workbooks. These workbooks offer consistent
review and practice of the skills covered in the grade level just
completed. Summer Solutions will keep your child proficient in skills
and will continue to foster the confidence gained throughout the school
year. Summer Solutions offers 30 lessons per book, and books are
available in Math, Reading and English Grammar. Each book also contains
the answers for self- or parent-checking. The cost of each book is $10
and there is no shipping/handling or sales tax when you order through
our school.
At the Book Fair, there will be samples of some levels of the Summer
Solutions books, along with order forms. Please take a look, and help
yourself to an order form. If you are interested, please fill out the
order form and turn it in to your child's teacher or the office, with
payment enclosed, in an envelope marked “Summer Solutions.”
Checks are to be made out to St. Ambrose. Please return all orders by
Monday, April 12th. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to
contact me for more information.
