• The next time you're in the building, check out the new tack and white boards, paint, cabinets, and lockers in the Art Room. Ask your children about all these new reasons to love Art class!
• The Kindergarten classroom upgrades are complete; come see the new cubbies.

• Social Studies: 8th graders are looking at primary source documents about the Civil War; 7th graders are studying the Revolutionary War and 6th graders are learning about the civilizations of the Fertile Crescent.
• Science, grades 6-8: The Great Oreo Investigation teaches the process of the scientific method through hands-on labs and group activities.
• Language Arts: 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are reviewing parts of speech; 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are also reading short selections (poems and stories) from their anthologies.
• "Think First" Presentation:  September 28th at 2:20pm for 6-8th grade students.  The program talks about preventions and precautions with safety/seatbelts/helmets, and hopefully the kids will get to listen to a VIP speaker who has survived a brain/spinal cord injury and how it had impacted his or her life. The program is geared toward our students because we have a lot of kids that ride their bikes or walk to school. It will also touch on drinking and driving, which will be geared to our 8th grades who, unfortunately, are going to be exposed to that in highschool. Parents are welcome to attend!

• Junior Olympics in Iowa for Gymnastics:  Alyssa B.
• Soap Box Derby held on the Hill:  3rd Place - Alex S., and 4th Place Nick S.

Congratulations to all these children and all of our students for all their accomplishments!

• Lunch cards are $15.00 for 5 lunches.
• Every child buying lunch must have a lunch card before getting in line. Money will not be accepted in the lunch line. Please make checks payable to Chris'.
• Students who forget their lunch will be given cereal and milk that will cost 1.00. Parents will be notified through Fast Direct.
• Snacks such as pizza, nachos, cereal will be available to buy for students in grades 3-8.
• A lunch count is essential in the morning, so there is no food waste and the students who come through last have a proper lunch. We will not prepare for extra lunches this year.
