School Closings and Weather Information

At the suggestion of our PTO officers, we will be using Fastdir.com as our primary means of communicating with families if school should need to be closed due to inclement weather.

Snow Policy

If school is not called off prior to 6:30 AM to about 7 AM, we then remain open until normal closing. If parents wish to come and get their children at any time, due to inclement weather, they may do so.

Rather than calling homes, we will message all who are registered on Fastdir.com.  Please check there first.  All not registered are requested to do one of these two options:

  • Check TV or radio stations listed here:
  • Select a classmate or friend who is registered on Fastdir.com and ask them to call you with the information.

Our Phone Squad is set up for use in other emergency situations.

Please do not call the school for closing information!

Cancellation or delay of school will only occur in cases such as extreme weather, equipment failure or public crisis. St. Ambrose is aware of the hardship that can be caused by an abrupt cancellation. Therefore, school will not be canceled unless a significant safety risk has been created by unusual circumstances.
